Pipeline Automation
CSD Engineers provided automation development and commissioning services for six Bakken crude oil terminals serving an Interstate pipeline transmission system. The scope of the services included development for the control of scraper traps, multiple storage tanks, custody transfer metering/proving, various manifolds, booster/mainline pumps, and surge relief assets across all facilities. CSD administered control narratives, C&E Diagrams, PLC Coding, Flow Computer Configuration, HMI Application Development, and site commissioning. The project utilized innovative custom coding modules using Rockwell Automation’s PlantPAX platform, which greatly reduced variances across end user operations and increasing the level of maintainability by support personnel.
