Crude Oil Terminal

Crude Oil Terminal Design

CSD Engineers provided multi-discipline design services and commissioning support for multiple crude oil terminals in the Bakken region. The design allowed the system to collect crude oil by truck and pipeline which was then moved to aboveground storage tanks. From there the product could be transported through a 12” bi-directional pipeline running between facilities approximately 24 miles apart. CSD Engineers also designed a mid-point custody transfer junction facility to connect the system to a third party transmission pipeline for additional flexibility in product movement capabilities.

CSD Engineers’ project team was successful in keeping to the project’s tight schedule despite severe Bakken weather. The project factored in cold temperature piping and severe environmental variables vital to the overall design and longevity of the customer’s facility.
